Meh. I actually find this stuff vaguely interesting, though I'm not sure ongoing FPPs add to the Mefi experience.

If the determining factor for whether a post gets deleted is whether or not somebody calls it out, then you end up getting a culture that's driven by the iron whim of its most neurotic participants.

Well, that's democracy for ya. I prefer the benevolent dictator model, so this is a nice middle-ground: we vote, matt decides whether he wants to pay attention to our votes. As long as matt keeps making decisions I like, I'll vote that we keep things this way, but, again, Matt can chose whether to listen to my vote or not.

By the way, I really like the phrase "iron whim".
