Computer not recognizing iPod

I have a 20GB 3G IPOD with 4,000 songs. All of a sudden my computer will not recognise it when I plug the IPOD into the USB port. I tryed to use updater but that won't recognise my player either.I can still listen to my songs, it just won't hook up. Any ideas? Cheers to all!

MetaTalk (this site) is for posting "topics specific to MetaFilter itself, ranging from bug reports to feature requests to questions of content". You should post your question to Ask Metafilter. It is an easy mistake to make. Don't feel bad.

I'm confused. According to hophead's profile, he's asked one question on AskMe and posted one thread here in MeTa, and made no comments anywhere else on the site. Didn't we used to have a rule about making a certain number of comments before you could do either of those thing?

Perhaps hophead627 will post in Ask.Mefi asking why his MetaTalk thread didn't get any good responses. Perhaps he'll be a bit of a jerk while doing so.

Have you tried using each and every USB port? Maybe there is something wrong with the one you have been using?

While we're at it, I broke into one of my tenant's apartments the other day to cheat on my wife with this girl I know who grows pot for a living. While I was undressing her, a bunch of fast food receipts fell out of her back pocket. Here's another iPod recognition AskMe. In a situation like this, is it appropriate to send the person an e-mail explaining MeFi/AskMe/MeTa, or is it a "Do not try to apprehend the suspect, wait for the admins" kind of thing?

scarabic, the important thing to remember is not to buy your mistress a diamond, especially if you're planning on going to see the latest Kevin Smith film together after stopping by the 2nd Avenue Deli. You might try writing to James Frey to ask him what to do, especially if there are any XX/XY issues between you and your mistress that might interfere with your enjoyment of Jon Stewart's Oscar-hosting.
