Toronto MeFites, let's get together February 8, 2006 11:39 AM Subscribe
Toronto MeFites, let's get together, quaff the good ale (or, as in my case, the mediocre fruit juice), and make Stephen Harper jokes. I'm suggesting 8 p.m.-ish, Saturday, February 25th as the time and date, but you can all fight amongst yourselves about where you want to meet.
Hrmm, I'm seeing a show at the Horseshoe that night, but if you pick someplace in the Queen West area, perhaps I could drop by beforehand.

We should meet at that place. With the drinks. You know.

Oh, that place. Are you sure they'll let me back in after that biker and kumquat thing that happened the last time we went?

Yeah, just don't bring the Hungarian midgets, ok? I'm still trying to get the stains out of my suit.

That's a shame; I'll miss this by a week. I'll be in TO for the weekend of the 17th through to the 20th. Maybe some other time, then!

Also, while I have a chance to derail: if any of you Toronto MeFites have any recommendations of spots to visit / things to do while I'm there, it would be much appreciated. (E-mail's in my profile.) I'll be staying at the Marriott Bloor in Yorkville.

Don't worry Krrrlson, we can get together and make Jack Layton jokes. I mean, have you seen his moustache?

Oh, Canadians. We're so decisive.
I've been thinking. Technically, shouldn't MeFi meetups be held somewhere that serves pancakes?

All right, my little sheep, it seems that Bo-Peep must suggest a pub. I'll suggest two so that I can lead without you feeling dictated to;-)
The Local (on Roncesvalles)
or
The Dark Horse (Jane and Bloor). No site for it, so I'll just say it's a pesudo-English pub with standard fare, is usually not all that busy and is therefore quiet with lots of room for us.
My vote is for the Local, as I have never been there and would like to expand my pub repertoire.

The Local. Is that the place which switches every single one of its televisions to the Trailer Park Boys when the show comes on?

Hrmm, I've been invited to a housewarming that night. Between warming houses and the show, I guess I'm out no matter where it is.

Hey! The Local! I would be there mostly because it's easy for me to get to. Though no pancakes. And no televisions the last time I was there, so I assume no Trailer Park Boys. Though they do have board games I believe.
