Thanks for making me "famous" or at least seen and discussed in here: http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/48973

I'm a graphic designer here in Brazil and, surely I'm a ST fan...

I laughed my pants off with the thread and comments, and all the "importance" and "opinions" you and your pals let there about my kidding with photos and recrations to my "character"...!

Surely that was a plan - the plan! - to finally get me to write a book and get profit out of it all...!!

The firt part was done - and will be going on as long as necessary and as long I have fun doing it...!!

But nevertheless, all that is written about that project is quite nutritive...!

Please let it be known to all your pals, the people that wrote there, that I really READ all that was written there...! And I found it delightful and funny...! Hehehehe...!!!

I have sense of humor, and most of the people here too...!! SOme are a little too much preocupied with "other" implications of my hobby, but I asure you what I do I do fo MY own pleasure! And I do it to have fun and be part of what I like...!

Some people write books (I intend to do it too), some people make movies (I'm inserted in this area here in Brazil too) and some people jus go to conventions and dress on like characters or watch TV...

I like what I do, and that's enough for me...! All the rest, just pleases my mind and my heart with fun and joy!!

Thanks to you to make happy today...!! Tell the others that "I got it"...!! ;o)

Best wishes,

Marshall Oak
(the myth behind the man)
Sounds like he's taking it all in stride.

Spiffy. But does he live in a PO box?

I cannot believe I missed that thread.

I'm a huge fucking Trekkie (all 49 TNG DVDs, etc.), but . . . I'd like to mail that guy one of those solid gold communicator pin replicas. I guess mailing him something for his site would be kinda creepy, but I figure he's got me as outclassed in the 'creepy' department as he has me outclassed in the 'Trek fan' department.

Just . . . Jesus. Wow.

I think that's a terrific title for a musical.

Neat! For being such a good sport, I say we get Marshall his own MeFi baseball jersey - in red velour, of course.

Marshall, I think you could make some money of the side by charging people to Photoshop them into Star Trek scenes.

he has a great attitude about it, esp. with the snark people displayed--a good guy. Enjoy, Marshall! : >

Man, that's awesome. I already stated my love for his site (and I'm a star wars fan who hates star trek, even!) in the original thread, but now I profess my undying affection for the man himself. again:

Three cheers for this guy!

Hip hip!

If only more people would have this easygoing attitude. Good for Mr. Oak. Set phasers to...delighted!!
