Almost a year ago, I asked metafilter what to do to remove carpet glue from hardwood floors, and a not insignificant number of people asked for an update. Here it is.

Great looking place -- bummer to hear about the breakup in this way.

You didn't want to live in Nebraska anyway.

That's amusing how you don't exist in the world of that article. Or is it sad? I'm not sure.

Thanks dersins. Sorry things turned out pear-shaped.

I agree with every word of those three sentences, smackfu.

Yah, that article is odd when you know that dersins has been removed as it were, eesh. Oh well, there's always a better girl and reno project in the future.

In all fairness, I should note that my former fiancee did inform me that the article was being written, and did check with me that I was cool with not being mentioned in it.

Which makes sense, from a journalistic standpoint-- why clutter a simple story line with irrelevant details, after all...

I just agree with kcm.

Well, they should have said "bought the building with a friend". Journalist accuracy and all, the people Jason Blair wrote about loved his stories, even though they only talked to him on the phone.

I never got a chance to weigh in on that one.
