Anyone use favorites to save nsfw for later? July 10, 2006 4:40 AM   Subscribe

So, own up - how many of you use the 'favourites' feature to log potentially nsfw posts for reading later at home?

Not I. I just click them and see what the work filter does with them. Then I log back in at home.

Although, that's a good idea. I'll have to start doing that.

Related pony: I would like to be able to assign a tag (or tags) to a favorited post or comment. For example, I'd like to be able to tag things as "read later", "reference", "funny", "my anonymous askme", etc. Then I could look at my favorites grouped by these. The last example would obviously only be useful if these fav-tags were kept private.

Plutor : "I'd like to be able to tag things as 'read later', 'reference', 'funny', 'my anonymous askme', etc."

I do that with del.icio.us (for example, long videos and the like are tagged with "checkoutlater" so that I can check them when I get home).

del.icio.us for me too. I used it for favorites before we had favorites. sometimes I still do because I like being able to pull up a favorite based on a tag.

My primary vector for MeFi is Bloglines, which provides a checkbox to keep an item on the feed as unread until unchecked.

Bloglines also has a "clip this" link on feed items, but that's less useful. Another cross-site tool that would be useful in this way is the Google Notebook. I didn't think Google Notebook would be very useful at first, but I use it all the time now.

(Side note: The spellchecker suggests Mafia for MeFi)

I flag them to show 'em to your mom.

That's bullshit, stavros. You can't be showing it to my mom, because she has her weekly dental exam tonight.

Wait a damn—
Oh gross!
