Is this setting off anybody else's self-link-dar? 8 comments to the 'Filter and one answer to AskMetafilter, no profile information, and she favorites her own not-particularly-interesting post?

Yes, and I hunted around trying to find something that linked the two for about 10 minutes and came up with nothing.

It's just too perfect. I suspect the FFPer is not the blog writer, but a close friend.

While I expressed that we could probably use a good selflinker pile-on, I sure hope not.

It is kinda weird that there aren't any google results for this "juliarothbort" person. Probably a fake name to avoid detection. Or just someone that doesn't get out alot.

Yeah, bob, I noted that too. Made me even more suspicious.

However, after years (fricking 15 now) as a spam and cr/hacker -busting sysadmin, suspicion is my very nature.

I can't find any link between the two using all the whois and paypal info in the world. I suspect there isn't something nefarious going on and instead it was someone that saw the author of the sexblog do a comedy show in NYC and mention it. Or maybe they're a friend, dunno.

Also, favoriting your own thing is totally harmless. People might just do that to have an easy way to find it later on.
