There was nothing particularly wonderful about that chicken, so I don't think it was the Stavros we know & love. posted by jonson at 12:19 AM on December 25, 2006
First him and now james brown. This is a sad sad day, but at least they didn't make a sandwich from james. posted by IronLizard at 12:32 AM on December 25, 2006
Stavros was the one that had been cooked. How are you able to gague how wonderful he was!? posted by The God Complex at 12:32 AM on December 25, 2006
Huh. **re-watches** How 'bout that? My understanding of that web commercial was completely wrong. Okay, for the record, maybe that WAS our stavros. Bummer. posted by jonson at 12:52 AM on December 25, 2006
That's very very freaky. Thank you I think!
I'm thinking it may be a horsehead-in-the-bed warning from the AAAA that I'd better watch my anti-marketing trash talk, or I'll be sleeping with the mayonnaise. posted by stavrosthewonderchicken at 2:19 AM on December 25, 2006
Hey! What are you doing? I hate it when my food starts talking. posted by IronLizard at 2:39 AM on December 25, 2006
But hey, souvlaki is really, really delicious. Now pass the ouzo. posted by Brittanie at 3:38 AM on December 25, 2006
I'm so glad you posted it ODiV! I crack up every time I see it, thinking of our stavros seeing it and being totally weirded out by it, heh. posted by zarah at 5:01 AM on December 25, 2006
That's a horrible commercial. I've never heard of Mr. Sub, but if I ever get the opportunity, I'm not going to eat there. posted by bingo at 5:53 AM on December 25, 2006

This is either the second time time I see that ad and the stavros-bit mentioned here, or I'm having a very strange deja vu. When that ad campaign was submitted to my site I even told the agency contact about the stavros-bit. Sorry, they replied, but they don't know 'stavrosthewonderchicken', however they did think that it was kinda funny. posted by dabitch at 4:44 PM on December 26, 2006
