Indiana Meetup February 12, 2007 5:41 PM   Subscribe

I assumed there weren't many of us (and maybe there aren't), but a recent AskMe made me wonder if anyone would be interested in a Bloomington, Indiana meet up?

Just, you know, checking.

Thirteenkiller and I tried to have meetups last summer to no avail. On the other hand, the two of us had a lot of fun together.

Hehe cortex, he was here for that. :D

The meetup last summer failed on account of I declared it about an hour beforehand and for a place that was closed. But k8t doesn't seem to harbor any resentment! Anyway yeah I would totally come to a Bloomington meetup.

Well, I'd be up for a more proper meet up at a bar sometime soon, but for now just let me say that I'll be sledding on Tri-North's hill (on 17th St.) at 9 PM tomorrow, with a blue sled.

And wearing a blue overcoat, a blue hoodie, blue gloves, and blue jeans. My boots, however, will be brown.

Assuming I don't die driving on the roads tonight.

I'm onsite in Ft Wayne in your fair state of Indiana. Will meet anywhere, preferably on US30, on my drive home tonight. Bring a shovel and some cat litter.

I'd be interested. Although, as I said, I am under 21, and the bars here are pretty tight.

And hey, thanks a lot to all who pitched in on that askme! I have my plans set!!!

that has happened only once in that 30 years, or so i'm told.

Under 21 Kudos: tsk tsk.

What'd you end up planning?

While I do like the idea of crashing Kudos' date, who is free Monday any time after 8?

Wing night at Mother Bear's? Simply coffee at Soma? Other ideas?
posted by ztdavis at 4:50 PM on February 13, 2007

Soma would be great!

Oh man, I miss Soma. I'm getting all nostalgic.

I left town shortly after Tom died.

Hm, maybe in November, when I will be there for 3 weeks for a seminar.

October! Midnight Madness weekend! I'll be there!

I'm guessing that IU is not closing. The only time I can remember any classes being cancelled was when there was an ice storm in 1995ish. Even then, classes were only cancelled from 5pm until 9am the next day - gee, that helped!

Oh Bloomington, I miss you.

I'm going with the home cooked meal, and then a drive around Grey's lake. I was a bit late on the reservations...... yeah...

However, I vote Soma. Laughing planet (great food!) is up stairs, pleanty of seating, it'll be fun.

Ha! IU is opening at noon today. /victory dance, goes back to bed

My IU office closed yesterday at three because everyone else had to drive and wanted to get home. I just take the bus, so it didn't really matter at that point.

Anyway, Soma, Monday night from 8 PM, back room if there's space? I'm the woman in my userpage pic, I'll be sipping a mocha and wearing some manner of garment.

I'll be at Soma on Monday at 8, with a foam sword.

Back room sounds good.

Man, tonight is the most perfect night to drive around. It's like Narnia out there.

Yeah it is. I wish I had a camera.... some of the trees are damn breathtaking.
