Weird number translation issues? Maybe? I don't know, but when I posted to the "Crazy Congressmen" thread I know that the second time I used this link: http://www.metafilter.com/58687/FlatEarthers-No-FixedEarthers because I pasted it IN the comment box and then did the HTML around it. But it BECAME a link to the thread that I was commenting in. What? Or maybe I am totally and completely insane.

Crazy Congressmen Medieval Mavens!

Also, that post sucks.

You seem to have managed to post an href within an href—I think you must have double-clicked the link button. Here's what you ended up with:

Arugh. Mispasted. <a href="http://www.metafilter.com/58687/FlatEarthers-No-FixedEarthers"><a href="null">THIS </a></a>is the doubled post.

So no worries about site issues—simple user error of the twitch variety.

Works for me.

I have no idea what happened to yours, as I don't know anything about how this stuff works. Maybe something got left out of the html?

Ah. Thanks, cortex.

Since Cortex explained it, I think I know what happened, too -- I had tried the link clicky thing, and then it was blocked as a pop up b/c I am at work and using IE because I am forced to do so, and something must have gone all pear shaped with the clicking and pasting and writing of html and whatnot.

In short, I know enough html to make myself look stupid.

You're on the threshold, woman. Eschew the clicky things altogether. Straight up handcrafted HTML, always. Purity of essence. Purity of essence.

Thirded. It was like a bunch of previously deleted posts were all strung together into some sort of mega-crap post.

Yeah, if you click the link button in IE7 it blocks the pop-up window but still adds the [a href="null"] [/a] link tags around your link.

Yeah, I'm gonna delete the post and be done with it.

mathowie, while you're here... I can't post again in these 4 days, but here's a bug for you: Most Favorited Tracks on the Music home page all show (1 favorite) regardless of how many favorites the track has.

Bruh? Are you sure you're not looking at the "Most Favorite Tracks from your contacts" bit?

Oh. My bad.

Damn, cortex solving problems left and right. I nominate cortex for kind of the thread!

Sucking up to cortex makes me cool this week, right?
