When can I post a question? March 3, 2007 1:10 PM   Subscribe

The New Question page on AskMefi is giving me conflicting information. First it says that I have 7 days 15 hours (etc) to post, then one countdown says I have 15 hours left, then there's another countdown which was constantly changing between the two, but as I type this it's settled itself to 15 hours. (One of the countdowns is from a GreaseMonkey script). Which is it?

turn off your greasemonkey scripts. Then go to the posting page. That would be the correct number (the one from the actual server).

Still conflicting, Matt. I see this:

D'oh!

You've asked a question in the past two weeks. There is a limit of one question per 14 days, which you've used up. Make them count, because you'll only get one every couple weeks.

You may ask another question in: 7 days, 15 hours, 4 minutes, 8 seconds.

15 hours, 3 minutes and 18 seconds
until you can ask another question.

If that's what you see, it's because you have a greasemonkey script turned on.

The site doesn't send text like that.

You probably have some mefi extension still doing conflicting things. I assure you that I'm not seeing it on the post page. I only see one indication that I have some number less than 2 weeks to post again.

"15 hours, 3 minutes and 18 seconds

I bet you have some extension that doesn't know about the two week limit, and is calculating the time left after one week.

Bah! Didn't realize I had TWO such scripts. Sorry, fixed now.
