Sadly, no sandwiches/corruption, nor massages/cookies (or at least, no photographic evidence of such). Instead, we have a recipe for stripper iceberg salad, $85 in sock puppet names, and the security of knowing it's ok to listen to Oasis after all. I think that's a fair trade.

Maybe my priorities are just out of whack, but this really was the most fun I've had at a meetup so far. Then again, it's the first one we've had where huge platters of French fries magically appeared.

Also, it was smart of us to meet on a day when most of the city were home hugging their toilets and recovering from Saturday's StPD festivities; the atmosphere at Revival was incredibly mellow.

TPS, this is such a beautiful story. Little Orphan Kara grows up in the T-Mobile Call Center Orphanarium with half a locket on a chain, the other half of which contains the missing "oke" in her name. She runs away, rescues a stray dog named which she names Twinkie, and sets off in search of her parents, not knowing that all that's left of her dear mother is a prolific AskMe legacy and stock in the Airborne fortune just waiting to be claimed.

The layout of the room and the vibe of it all made it feel like a salon of sorts, but instead of talking about the arts and politics of the day there were discussions of the mesquite-flavored KY, the fugness of the current cycle of ANTM, the abyssmal quality of the Village Voice's new sex column and the fantastic mammaries of Ultragrrrl. At least that's all I left with from this meetup.
