why or why? | MetaTalk

2-3 weeks ago I posted a song to music. It's no longer there. I assume it was deleted. Of course, there was a perfectly good reason why it was deleted. It would be nice if you notified me of this action, the reason why, and allow me to respond before the action was taken.

You say 2-3 weeks ago...But....Matt had a problem 'recently' on Music...

MeFi Music is working again, but we lost every uploaded song from March 22 until now. I've set the threads to hidden, but you have two options: re-upload as a new post, or email me the mp3 so I can restore it.

Reading Matt's comment, it seems that the missing threads (and therefore the comments you need) are still on the server - it's just the actual mp3 files that got deleted. If you email Matt your mp3, I'm sure he can restore the thread and you'll be able to get your comments back.

I assume this comment was posted here for a reason. And what reason would that be? And was it, perchance, at the behest of any named or unnamed individual? I would appreciate the small kindness of being notified when one of my comments is posted and given a chance to decide whether it should be posted or not.

Thanks Matt, for the getting the thread up. The advice and links were important to me. I'll skip sending the song as it wasn't very good anyway. And cortex was right about the four days.

Not for nothing, I did apologize. And admitted I was paranoid. The YouTube link was me making fun of myself. Seriously, I do sometimes suffer from paranoia and is a problem I have been dealing with for most of my life. I thought maybe Green Peace had gotten to you guys (that's me making fun of myself again).

Hey, flapjax, maybe you and I can work something out. I'll start a new Metatalk thread saying:

"why on earth was flapjax's Elmo song deleted?, it was his best so far, this is the most unfair thing I've seen here, I can't believe these kind of things happen around here"

And then someone will come and say:

"it's right here, you twat, can't you be bothered to learn to use the search feature?... btw, it is his best song yet, isn't it, I really liked it too"

A couple of weeks after you can do that for me, and that way we will keep diverting traffic to our songs, how about that?

Sparx, I don't approve stuff that sits in a queue, he actually posted it late last week, not 2-3 weeks ago, which is why I made light of that. Correctitude makes sense when you're trying to correct someone, so uh try and be correct next time.

...didn't you understand? It wasn't about the song, it wasn't about my ego getting stroked, it was about losing the information that a couple of generous people here had posted. Very early in the thread I apologized for not knowing that a week of posts had by accident, been deleted (forgive me for not being up-to-date on what's going on here. I haven't had the luxury of spending 20 hours last week keeping abreast of things, as my sister-in-law passed away and I've had other priorities). Take my word for it, by my not reposting the song, no one is missing out on anything.
