Many a drunken NYC mefite has gazed into his/her half-empty glass and wished aloud that DaShiv would come to NYC and take photos of us. Well, I say life is short, and we're not getting younger. Let's take up a collection and get him out here for a meetup. I'll start with a pledge of $50 towards his airfare and any other necessary expenses.

Holy crap -- first time I've checked MeTa in a week or two and there's a thread about me. MeTa sense tingling!

Actually I have a spare Rapid Rewards pass from Southwest somewhere (and I think they fly out to Long Island). If an enterprising NYC'ers has a spare couch for a week or so (or a few someones with a few different couches), can help me figure out how to get to the airport and back, and somebody in the posse has a computer that can load raw files from a 13MP camera on Photoshop, then I'd love to visit New York somewhere along the line and shoot a meetup or three. When's a good time to hit the city? I think I need at least a month's lead time to use the pass.

TPS, those photos are great! That's what happens when you don't hold meetups in a poorly-lit bar. (A tip for future meetup planners!) Luckily for you drunks out there, bar photography is my specialty...

Nice photos TPS!
Now I can put names to many of the faces that I only had a brief chance to glimpse, first in the dimly lit bar on Lafayette and then in the hockey-less bar on the LES that we dashed out in search of a non-baseball-centric place with a telly once my better half heard about the game going into overtime.
Did manage a nice chat with timepiece though, and a few words with Bingo on the expedition from Bar A to Bar B (I know you all want to touch me now...).
