cortex notes in passing something about the "admin console." Jessamyn drops a dark reference to the "admin-facing flags" interface. Come on MeFi elite admin caste! Let's see screenshots! Feel free to lie if the truth is not interesting.
There was a picture of it in Matt's presentation here.

slide #45 in that presentation shows a tiny sliver of the recent flag hotspots and the tail end of "the matrix" view which is last 100 flags as they came in.
The rest of the tools aren't that interesting, it's all plain text data views.

Hmmph. If I were coding this place, you can just bet there'd be plenty of flashing, beeing things and a big, red, throbbing . . . button. A banhammer would be just TOO obvious.

Yeesh. I feel dirty. And strangely attracted to both ColdChef and crash. Which makes me feel even dirtier.

I imagine that in a hidden room, in each of their houses, they have a terminal that allows them to connect to the Gibson which hosts MeFi.

How naive are all of you? Do you REALLY think they'd show us the ACTUAL Admin pages?
Sheesh.
This is totally a red herring so we don't know the truth - all the secret notes where they laugh at us, all the secret inline IMGs they add to threads that NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE, etc.

I love how in the Fermilab picture that Rhomboid links, amongst the vast array of monitors and oscilloscopes, there's a magic 8 ball sitting on the desk. As if, when the core is about to overload, with warning lights flashing and alarms blaring, the physicists would think, "fuck it, we'll just ask the 8-ball what to do". Do we eject the fuel rods or ventilate the reactor? ASK AGAIN LATER.
