What makes all the new comments lights disappear in MeTa? December 10, 2001 2:55 AM   Subscribe

The moment I click on the first MeTa thread all the useful little "new comments" lights on the other threads disappear. This has never happened over on MetaFilter. What are we, second-class citizens here or what? :) Anyone know a way round this?

Mentioned previously here. The behaviour now appears to be, for me at least, that posting a comment to a Meta thread will zero out the 'x new comments' flags. Work around - : right-click, Open in New Window to read and comment in threads, leaving top level MeTa untouched in first window.

top level MeTa untouched

Now this I like. Beautifully worded; lovely new tag. Cheers!

yeah, I've had the same problem for some time now. I just shift click on the comments too. it's kind of a pain, but it works.

I must add that I wish MetaFilter had a Post process like here--where you have to pass through Preview and can't hit Post posthaste in error. I like extremely dumb user friendly, myself.
jnthnjng looks a lot like fghdfhdfg--I'm waiting for some unsigned lurker to grab the latter for a handle...

Uh. It does.

D'oh! You're right: I was thinking of that after hitting preview once--forgetting in the moment I'd done so--and then having the option of preview and post . I guess I meant I wish sometimes that were never the case, that you'd have to go through preview until you were absolutely sure. But wished not too much, that..
