Buenos Aires meetup?

Buenos Aires meetup? This weekend maybe? Or next?

I tried to bribe people with ice cream for the last meetup attempt and still it did not work. But I'm trying again. It looks to be not quite warm enough yet for ice cream, but pizza, beer and wine are always good.

I will be arriving in Buenos Aires on the morning of sunday 14th, so if we can make it next weekend, i'm on for it!

jontyjago, I'm flexible. That sounds good to me. Midweek is OK, too, if you'd prefer not to march off the plane and into a meetup.

I'm emailing some people whose profiles show them as local, so we'll see if anyone else chimes in.

What say you all to the evening of Sunday the 14th? Seems it would work for jontyjago. Works for me.

Can that work, jazzido? Conifer, do you at least have a shot of making it the 14th? (Or do you know it's impossible?)

Yup, fine with me - I don't know the city at all, but the place I'm staying at is near the Palermo metro station, so if we can meet round there somewhere, would make it easier to find for me.

14th of October? Not a chance in hell as we don't get the keys until the 10th! Need about a month of so of renovations before it's ready for the public. Can I link to the site of this new place and some of my other projects or is that forbidden?

No sweat, conifer. A meetup at the bar sounds great, but I was asking about a meetup elsewhere for the 14th. I just meant: Do you have something that would absolutely prevent you from making a meetup that date, or is there at least a chance you might make it, time permitting?

Hi there everyone:

I'm a Canadian that's currently on vacation in Argentina - I would have loved to join you in BA on the 14th, but I leave Sunday night to come back to Canada (and work, boo!).

I may be trying to get to Iguaza Falls on Saturday, but I'll be around BA until Sunday at 2 PM or so, so if there is anyone interested in a meet up this weekend as well as the 14th, I could also join. Alternately, anyone interested in a MeFi whirlwind tour to Iguaza by plane?

I'll be in Buenos Aires till the 12th. I just came back from El Calafate, so it's not too cold for ice cream for me. If the idea of the meetup develops, I'll be there!

Seems like Sunday the 14th will mean at LEAST two people -- three if jazzido makes it! We're going to have to make up in Malbec what we lack in numbers.

Jazzido, any input on where we should go? King's Town on Jufre would be a good option but they're closed Sundays. I've always wanted to check out La Cava Jufré (Jufré 201).

Conifer, suerte with the bar. I'll hold you to that meetup offer in a few months.

This didn't go well, did it?

I showed up and waited around a bit, but the bar turned out to be closed and 20 minutes or so was my limit for standing on a dark street corner.
