Hindustani MeFites! How about another South India meetup? Bangalore, Hyderabad, or...
As promised, I am headed to the subcontinent in January. The best meetup city for me would be Hyderabad between 1/11-1/15 but I'll be in Bangalore 1/20-1/22 and am also moving around Tamil Nadu and AP for the month. I haven't seen Hadjiboy 'round these parts lately, maybe there are others now?

Hey Slarty. You're a doctor aren't you?
Are you going to a conference?
My family in law now reside in India and I want to get my brother in law to an opthamologist.
We've used various hospitals, clinics and gps in India. All with pretty reasonable success.
But we haven't really done a private consultation with a consultant.
Do you know much about how that works in India?
Although Indian doctors are some of the most respected in the world..... I was somewhat uncomfortable with the fact that gps can own their own pharmacies and prescribe from them.
Do you know if you need a referral to see a consultant/specialist/attending?
Sorry to hijack. Thought I'd ask... and maybe if you don't know... if someone else here has lived in India (I did, but never needed a specialist) they might know.
Back to your previously scheduled thread.

That probably would've been a good question to use MeMail for.

You're right Miss Lynnster. I completely forgot about it. Stupid of me. I've used it a couple of times, too. How embarrassment!
Although it would be helpful if someone else from India happened along.
Ok, now I'm really, really sorry everyone.

Actually, you might want to ask on AskMe.
