The Brit abroad - San Francisco Meetup in August?

I'm going to be at An Event Apart in San Fran in August, plus a few more days. The conference itself is Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th, but I'll be there 17th - 23rd. I'd love to see how some of you West Coast MehFee members do the meetup thang, and, y'know, maybe actually meet some of you.

I guess the Wednesday or Thursday night would be best. What do you think?

Also, I'll be packing my axe, so if any of you know where an energetic electroacoustic singer-songwriter might get the chance to do an inaugural Stateside set, please let me know. Gonna go crosspost this gig venue bit to AskMe now...

I'm game, though the date is so far off that it's kinda hard to commit. You might want to either arbitrarily pick a date so you can sidebar this post, or else wait and repost this sometime in late July or early August so folks can see it nearer to the event. The SF meetups do seem to happen nearly monthly and are always fun.

Oh, and the SF Outside Lands festival begins on Friday the 22nd, so I'd recommend against that date (some MeFites will probably be there, and heavy traffic into the city may discourage those from outside SF proper from making the trek into the city).

Wow. I didn't know anything about SF Outside Lands. Tickets booked! That's Friday sorted, then.

In other news, I propose Thursday the 21st of August, 2008 for a nice little meetup somewhere in SF. Now, if someone would like to propose a venue in the next couple of months, that'd be lovely.

I agree that you should post this again, like maybe the first week of August. We Bay Areans are much better at spontaneity than long-term planning.
