Follow up, they caught those fools!

So a while back someone broke in and took my tv. I live in a quaint historic neighborhood and never had any problems. Then the breakins started, all over the neigborhood. Someone finally got them on camera. That same early evening, they hit my next door neighbors house.

Then my boyfriend saw them! Saw them walking down the street! He called the police and we saw this headline this morning.

Woohoo!

I'm glad to hear that!

Two questions though: why on earth would these guys just steal TVs? It seems like there must be more valuable, fungible, and lighter stuff in the house.

Who is paranoid enough to have that many security cameras at their residence? I'm glad they did, but it still seems like overkill.

The Grant Park website has a nice rundown, including a pic with a gun.

Grant Park is a nice area of Atlanta; I'm glad the Internet is once again the hero.

Wow--please tell me that was a tape-saving motion-detection camera, and that it didn't really take them half a second to steal a giant flatscreen TV.

So did you get the TV back?

Yeah, doubt it. But did you end up doing the insurance claim for the TV and windows?

Thank god criminals are dumb.

It apparantly took them about 60 seconds.

There's also theft by finding in the UK. You know the Rolex that you found on the street isn't yours, so you have to make reasonable efforts to find the owner.

• Theft by Deception
• Theft of Services
• Theft by Extortion
• Theft by Bringing Stolen Property Into the State
• Theft of Lost or Mislaid Property

theft by that no good excuse for a girlfriend who probably sold it all on ebay anyway, that is, the stuff she didn't leave shattered or soaking in the bathtub, which, by the way, was overflowing which is why i had to come home in the first place when the landlord called because of the water running into the apartment downstairs, and we already were on tough ground with them because of the incident with the dogs, don't even get me started on that - that's her fault to. the rotten wench.

Thank god you weren't home when it happened.

Agreed, and though I could be wrong, I think they would have left id the door was answered. Looking at the video, that's what the initial guy going solo to knock on the door is for- as a checkout to make sure there is nobody home. That's how they role up here at least.
