Anyone else see that Neatorama linked to the oval office desk post? Though they don't really give credit where credit is due. link

I suppose asking for a proper MLA styled citation is out of the question.

They have a link to the MetaFilter post which in turn does an excellent job of linking to sources.

What's really nice is that the first comment to the Neatorama post is a variation on "i saw this alrdy old shit".

Miss Cellenia usually gets things right. She's nine kinds of awesome.

Though they don't really give credit where credit is due.
It's delightfully ironic that you'd post this that way, with the 'link' link at the end. 'Cause I had to click through to see what you were talking about. You know, sort of like how Miss Cellenia encourages her readers to follow the link at the end of her post to the MeFi post to read the full story. Hm.

Now wait a gosh darn minute! Do you mean to tell me that they linked to Metafilter, but that they didn't say where the link came from!? Or, is going to? Or, wait, what do I mean?

Haven't you heard? We're in a credit crunch! How do you expect to get credit in times like these?

If you have to explicitly state the name of a site you're linking to, then my blog has rarely given credit where it's due. I'd count Neatorama's entry as entirely polite and appropriate.

This story was also linked on Making Light.

"i saw this alrdy old shit"

In this case, the "old shit" in question is Nic Cage.

Cue the kottke post on that new craze: monologging!

Seriously? They linked right to MeFi. No doubt a "via" link would have been ok with you, so what makes this any different?

Do you know what the true cost of web link credit really is?

Also, mods, I know you all are hella busy right now, and I don't want to pile on, but that sumbitch should be on the sidebar, when you get a minute.

Good lord, do you have any idea how many times folks here have forgotten to mention that what they just posted to the front page came from Neatorama?

Victor Grippo was also interested in deskology (large). The desks have texts scribbled on them, but aren't visible in this picture. Sadly, my whole high-school oeuvre was in pencil; the world will never know it.
