I'll be in Houston between 6-29 and 7-9 and would like to get together. I'll be staying near the medical center/ Hermann park and will be renting a car.

What are you in town for, and what's your schedule like? Since I'm still in newbie-wants-to-meet-people-and-do-stuff mode I'd be up for something (work permitting).

Not anything in particular....just thought I'd make a side trip before the 10th. I'm pretty much free, but I want to make a day trip to Port Arthur while I'm here.

I'm free. I'm out in the 'burbs so I don't really know what's in that area (other than the zoo & museums) but I'm always game for a meet-up.

Will we need to make a reservation? I had been several times to the place I called as a backup for the last NY meetup and there had always been plenty of room. This last time it was mobbed and we were lucky to be given a spot in the garden.

UPDATE:

I came down with the flu the Thursday before I left. I'm over the main part, but I'm still coughing up gunk and don't have a voice. I hope I'm better Tuesday, but if not just go ahead and meetup without me.

I'm still coughing up green crud, don't have a voice and I don't think it would be a good idea for me to be around small children, so I'm going to have to pass. Go ahead and meetup without me.

If there's an exhibit or opera in the future that looks interesting, I'll definitely come back and call a meetup then.
