essexjan and danf come to NYC!

Hey, NYC: let's meetup on Saturday, October 3rd, to celebrate visits from essexjan and Danf.

Time: 7:30 p.m. onwards; though I imagine after a few hours we'll move elsewhere for food.
Place: Common Ground. We'll have some reserved space in the back.

I figured with the other two on weeknights, a weekend meetup could still draw a crowd. And if not, I get essexjan and Danf all to myself, yaaay!

...and I just got informed that my in-laws will be in town that weekend and we will be going out for dinner Saturday night. fuckity fuck, I'd much rather go to the meetup.

Wow, I was actually in the middle of typing, "Yay! Of course I'd love to see essexjan again, so put me down as a yes," only to be seized by a sudden feeling of foreboding right as I was typing the "e" in "yes." =( I just checked and that weekend there happens to be a work-related event. Yes, on a Saturday. I really should be done by 7:30, but the last time I promised myself I'd leave an event by X time I got kidnapped to an after party and suddenly it was 4am and I was stumbling out of Blue Ribbon Brasserie with a receipt for about $80 of marrow, oysters, etc. consumed tucked into my pocket...on a Wednesday.

Either way, I'd really like to see you while you're in town essexjan, so I'm going to try my hardest to be there, whether at Common Grounds or to go for food. But if I end up getting sucked up into some ridiculousness and can't make it... *makes "call me" motion*

I was about to whine about the placement of the meet-up (because the closest subway is the L) but then I expanded the map and realized that the PATH to the L is a relatively easy trip! Good choice, TPS!

If my every-other-Saturday thing happens on schedule, then I'll be in Manhatan that Saturday anyway, finishing up, like, 5:30pm. Plenty of time, eh. On the other hand, I am scatterbrained and and introvert and prone to fatigue. So... maybe, I think?

I will probably be celebrating my birthday that evening (it's that Wed), so I'm most likely a no at this point. But I'll definitely be at the 10/7 meetup.

Slight change of plans due to availabililty at Common Ground- we'll be in the front section on Sat October 3rd from 6:30 on; we officially have the space until 10, so I imagine somewhere around then is when we'll be leaving for foods.
