Chicago meetup, two weeks from today.

We miss the 1st by a hair, so come out on the 7th for the usual hurrah. We've had some new faces the last few weeks and it's been great, so if anyone's still on the fence about coming out, fence sit no more!

Billy Goat under Michigan. Possibly Blue Frog later on? YOU DECIDE.

Judging by how far Eamon made us walk last time, I think the Blue Frog is like, in Gary or something.

(I'm in, duh.)

As always, I'll put it in the calendar, but as has been the case recently, it'll be a game-time decision for me.

The walk to Blue Frog is half a mile, you candyass!

I'm out, by the way. Got a thing.

Yes, but I think the reason why it seemed long is because this is the route we took (I took some slight artistic license.)

Yep, should be there.

My boss just scheduled (for now) a company thing from 6-9 on that date, craaaaap.

Hopefully it will either be canceled or I can sneak out at 8.

I like how two of the last three meetups have essentially had two simultaneous threads going for them.

What the hell are you talking about?

I can't miss two months in a row. I'll try my best.

see, i always figured the D was for "droll"; turns out it's for "drollerskatz". boy, is my face red!
posted by crush-onastick at 9:18 AM on March 27, 2010

1. D is for drollerskatz.
2. People generally miss the D.
3. ????
4. INVISIBLE DROLLERSKATZ!!!!
posted by SpiffyRob at 2:54 PM on March 27, 2010

First people leave out the d in my name, then they leave out the e in drollerskatez. Red faces all around.

Fine, no pastrami on rye from Drollerskatz's Deli for you. I'm meeting Zomg Nolawforaski there for lunch.
posted by SpiffyRob at 7:29 AM on March 28, 2010

Careful, Spiffy. Don't let Zomg pull the "my wallet's in my other pants" bit with you. He has no other pants.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooolawforaski.

He dined and dashed, as it turns out, but Mr. Drollerskatz was pretty fair about the whole thing. He only made me pay for mine, so if I were Zomg, I wouldn't show my face again.

Sidenote: Who eats lunch with their landlord?
posted by SpiffyRob at 3:17 PM on March 28, 2010

I once used to stop for donuts in a shop right next door to my landlord's office, when dropping off my rent check, and would sometimes have a cup of coffee with him. But finally, when he told me I looked like Meg Tilly (or maybe Jennifer Tilly, it was a long time ago) one too many times, I stopped.

Settle on a post for the sidebar. Dueling threads suck.

Love,
Grumpy.

I actually saw the other thread because I clicked on the sidebar link, expecting to be taken to this thread.

FUN AND/OR EXCITING UPDATE:
My silly work outing that was scheduled on top of this has been moved to a restaurant in the Northbrook neck of the woods, and will be happening from 4-6. Point being: I can probably make it to the Goat no later than 7:30 or so. Radness.

Are post-100k users welcome? Will quite possibly be in that part of town.

Or even smaller whiskeys.

Absolutely you should come, PMdixon. Some of the things you may (or may not) learn if you come:

1. The optimal way to arrange stacks of money within a briefcase.
2. Dutch.
3. Hawaiian bounty hunting techniques and commentary.
4. Why you should fear Purple People Eaters.
5. If there are fries.

Also: You think you know pain? YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT PAYNE IS.

Oh noes! I just realized I have a board function on Wednesday night, so I will be absent from the festivities. Rats.
posted by crush-onastick at 7:27 AM on April 6, 2010

Nuts. I was hoping you'd tell the story of your big spill in Tahoe.
posted by adamdschneider at 8:53 AM on April 6, 2010

Is a board function like when you put a tin can under a 2x4 and then drop something heavy on one side, and the other lifts?

Still not sure about when I'll be there, but I'll be there, by the by.
posted by SpiffyRob at 6:44 AM on April 7, 2010

Shows what you know. I learned the board function in like pre-calc.
