WonderCon Meetup? March 26, 2010 2:23 PM   Subscribe

Is anyone attending WonderCon (San Francisco Apr 2-4) and, if so, how about a meetup?

I've never been to any con before! I'm not that familiar with comics! None of my friends seem to be going! It's been over a week since my last meetup! But WonderCon sounds great this year, and maybe there are other MeFites who want to show me around or hang out or something?

Friday or Saturday is better for me.

Praise teh lord. I was starting to think that mefites had abandoned this city.

I have as yet, not attended any meetups but seeing as how Moscone is about 6 blocks from my house I should probably be able to make this. Finding a place in that neighborhood that has room and doesn't require reservations could be a problem. I've only lived in SF for about 8 months and i rarely go to bars, so some other SF MeFite can probably come up with a place.

I've got a Seder to go to on the 3rd and am doing the sister's Easter Dolores Park thing, so...um...maybe? Friday night?

Are we hoping to do this near Moscone, or are you willing to travel to other parts of the city?

Meetup in the park, mollymayhem?

I love the idea, but it may not be everyone's blasphemous drag queen cup of tea. Also, I promise to be really exhausted and out of it, as I will have ridden a motorcycle to the top of Mount Tam to see the sunrise that morning.

Fri or Sat is better for sarahnade, looks like.

I'd love to meetup, but Wondercon is a freaking immense event with a gazillion different things going on. Maybe we could find an event that everyone would like to attend and aim for that (though the bigger events require lining up hours in advance)?

Or maybe lunch at one of the local restaurant/bars (Thirsty Bear, anyone?), bring our schedules, and strategize how to approach the afternoon/evening?

I'm interested, though I haven't checked out the schedule yet.

I'm interested in a meetup and unlike usually these are convenient dates, but would this one be limited to Wondercon attendees?

I think we could meet at a place around Moscone, outside of the badges-only area. I realize that there will be crowds, and as an introvert I will need to get away from it for a bit.

Although I was kinda hoping one or two MeFites would be attending the con and we could stand in lines together. Otherwise I might have to interact with strangers omg!

I have to go back and look at the schedule to plan, but I know I'm interested in going to Kevin Smith on Friday evening, Frank Cho and the Toy Story3/Movie panels on Saturday, and Adam Baldwin's panel (which I think is Sunday).

I like the sound of the Thirsty Bear.

I'll probably go on Saturday, and am likely to attend the Tim Powers, Gail Simone, and Sergio Aragones & Mark Evanier panels. That'd occupy me most of 12:30-4, which would make lunch tough.

Is anyone interested in meeting up Friday evening after 8?
