So essentially, vacapinta is going to be the only official (albeit part-time) employee of MetaFilter Network Inc. who is not going to be at "beautiful Lake Arrowhead, a secluded mountain lake two hours east of Los Angeles" from May 7th thru 9th. Vac, get plenty of sleep NOW because you won't get any this weekend. (And yes, I am paranoid enough to think that one of the BoingBoingers attending will sabotage the internet connection to the facility knowing that they have umpteen peons in the office watching the site but MeFi won't.)
And if I am 1% healthier physically and fiscally than I am right now, I WILL be a MeFite attending NEXT year or die trying (so if you see a dead body on the side of the road on the way to MaxFunCon 2011, just say a reverent "this did not wendell" as you pass and notify ColdChef).

See, that's when we roll out the concept of the Temporarily Crowdsourced Mod Squad. We all get moderation powers over the weekend, but not for the whole weekend (more like some random number of several-minute periods over the 72 hours). You'll know you're a mod when those appear next to FFPs, comments, and usernames. Comment deletion requires five mod votes, thread-nuking 25, and a user gets TEH BANHAMMER if 100 temp-mods push the red button (exceptions for selflinking arsebutts, who get vapourized immediately). A flagging system on HGH-hopped steroids, if you will. And vacapinta gets ultimate veto power anyway. Airtight and foolproof!

I live in a country estate year 'round, so I am going for something in a British Gardening Lady Country Estate look. Housecoat, orange socks, green tweed coat, crocs, bandana, drink-in-hand, crazed look in eye. Stand next to me and look dressed up by comparison. Altenrately, you can borrow my tweed coat.
