Cleveland Meetup

It's been over two years since the last meetup in Cleveland, Ohio. Let's Change that.

Location ? Date ? We can hash out the details in the thread.


My only pony is that I would like a place that has a patio.

I am all for this, except it's only been a year. You were there! Were we that unmemorable? (sound of poignant violins...)

Definitely patio.

Would strongly prefer if it were not the week after Memorial Day because the Arthur Family will be in NYC that week.

I am moving to Cleveland towards the end of the summer, for a year or two. Where are the Mefites in Cleveland .. East or West siders? I'll be an East-sider. I won't make this one but maybe we can do it again in the fall.

I think we skew more West but as an east sider I always think that. East side represent (throws middle class homeowner gang sign)!

I'm in Akron, but would happily drive up, depending on venue and relative child-friendliness. (Which I realize could be a dealbreaker for some.)

A Winking Lizard is always -- sort of -- an option, at least semi-child-friendly and plenty of booze. I think we established last time that the one in Independence is pretty central to folks. There's not a train table or anything but there is a lizard, usually, if the other WL's are anything to go by.

chesty and Meghanc, I don't know of any places that have a liquor license + child-friendly, but
how about Prosperity in Tremont in Winking Lizard in Independence ?

Any other suggestions for venues or places ?

There's another online meetup that I'm going to on that date, but I should be able to at least make an appearance on ours; however, I can't make the 25-27th.

Three Ohio meetups in the space of a month and they're all on days I've got booked. Feh.

I should set up a Toledo meetup for June 5th and someone else should do an Athens one June 26. We'll form a symbol of power throughout Ohio and bind it to MetaFilter's will.

Sadly, I am in Florida 6/19, so I'm out. Curse you, in-laws!

(Chesty, we should still try to do a yay-kids meetup at some point. Possibly related, I recently found out that there's a beer-serving establishment at the Cleveland Zoo! I have to investigate this further.)

I'll be working at the Clifton Arts and Musicfest that day, until around 6 or 7. I may not be able to make it, but i will do my best to make an appearance! (Never been to a meetup and have pretty much been a lurker for quite some time, but still.)

Oh no! I wasn't feeling well, and didn't have ready computer access to de-RSVP. I'm so sad that you wound up totally stood up by ... the rest of Cleveland, though, fizzix. Would you be interested in a do-over?
