London meetup on the afternoon of Saturday, 2 July?
I'm going to be in London for a single day and would love to see my favorite London MeFites again. I also want an excuse to test out the new IRL subsite features. I'm going to be in the Russell Square area but I can travel somewhere more interesting. Ideas?

I should be able to stop by for at least some of the meetup, and it would be great to see you again - but isn't Saturday the 3rd?

If it's lovely, how about a picnic in nearby Regent's Park?

I'm in. The park idea sounds spiffy.

The Regent's Park idea is GENIUS, assuming the weather holds (or even if it doesn't). Anyway YES YES YES and YAY to that plan. Put me down for a bottle of wine and some nice cheese.

Regent's Park sounds great to me! Where should we meet?
Should we have a backup plan in case of rain? It might be much harder for me to plan things once I am over there.

I will probably be in Cambridge that day, *argh* but I'll monitor this post, just in case. Enjoy!

The long-term forecast is looking bright. Say meet at the Chester Gate at a specific time?
Not sure about pubs in the area should the heavens open. There's always the Princess Louise - gorgeous (and cheap!) Sam Smith's pub in Holborn - beyond that my pub knowledge skews to the east.

the following comment only makes sense if you read it as having been posted in the wrong THREAD!!
"OK, after all that is this also the grouse meet up?
Grouse sent me an invite via facebook and now I see he's not even here! Any way, sorry Grouse, and Sgt, I can't attend any Meet-up as my fav surgeon has invited me all expenses paid to Henley : the Regatta (is that spelt with an e?) Anyhow, seeing as I'm Irish and have been offerred an opportunity to observe the English in one of their socially significant rituals, I simply can't pass it up. And then I'm off to a major piss-up at the weekend in Cork. So really, kind a sorry but not if you know what I mean.
and as for football , one data point, many Irish are following the UK team. In my Irish/German household we were a bit disappointed in yesterday's match to be honest. Match seemed to be stretching it as a noun.

I didn't have time to sidebar/IRL this before I left and now it is hard on the road. Can someone else do it? Meeting at 2 or 3 works for me. I will be there.

Sidebarring at grouse's request:
Let's plan to meet at the Chester Gate to Regent's Park (post code NW1 4JH, according to Google Maps) around 2:30 p.m. this Saturday (the 3rd of July).
Once the group moves into the park (or into a nearby pub) an update can be posted from somebody's mobile.
[I plan to stop by, but may not be there at the beginning.]

Thanks, I have been on a plane and finally got to a computer. I tried to add this to IRL but failed because I don't have a proper address and IRL won't let me post without one.
