Meetup in Barcelona

Is anyone in Barcelona? Want to meet up Thursday evening?

I haven't confirmed my accommodation yet so I'm open to anyting.

Looks like there aren't many MeFites in the area. I thought there might be since we rather famously had some members in Portugal. And the Berlin meetup I attended was one of my favorites.

The thing about these waffles is they are not the usual Belgian (Brussels) waffles of America—they are Liège waffles, the usual Belgian waffles of Belgium. Wikipedia says:

The Liège waffle (from the city of Liège, in eastern Belgium) is a richer, denser, sweeter, and chewier waffle. Invented by the chef of the prince-bishop of Liège in the 18th century as an adaptation of brioche bread dough, it features chunks of pearl sugar, which caramelizes on the outside of the waffle when baked. It is the most common type of waffle available in Belgium and is prepared in plain, vanilla and cinnamon varieties by street vendors across the nation.

Pearl sugar is awesome.

I just had a meeting with my mentor. I did not ask him if he liked waffles. I don't need to. Who doesn't like waffles?

If I worked downtown I could have waffles whenever I wanted.

The problem with this thread is that it keeps popping up near the top in Recent Activity. And then it reminds me of waffles. And then I want waffles. Again. It's like I just lost The Game.

Maybe I should participate in some active, high-drama MeTa threads to keep this down low in my Recent Activity. Maybe I should also eat some waffles.

I had an order of beignets today with powdered sugar. The beignet barista made them to order and peered through an organic chemistry workbook while they fried. They were doughy, slightly underdone, and they only reminded me of waffles more than ever.
