IRL Bug: this event, which happened yesterday, is showing up in the "Upcoming" part of the sidebar for me.
Time zone issue?

What happened?
Fixed! It should be better now anyway.

Thanks! How does IRL consider event durations, anyway? Do they all just go to the "past" at the end of the day, or will something that happens in the morning show up as "past" if I check the page in the afternoon of the same day?

Heres a really minor thing that doesn't really deserve its own MeTa thread, so I'll tack it on here. The formatting of the RSS feeds differs for Music than that of the rest of the subsites. For example a MeFi post comes up like this:
How many times has this happened to you?
by Trochanter
But Music posts come up like this:
Not-so-super Collision by mkb
The Music posts are harder to parse, especially when you're used to the normal format. I don't subscribe to all the RSS feeds, so its possible others are like this as well.

It's based on "day of the year" right now. So around midnight it'll switch over, but times for these are based on Pacific Time right now so it's not perfect.
The "Upcoming Near You" was using a different method before this morning—it was using 24 hours from the event time in Pacific Time. That's why it was still in your list.

Not all newsreaders display the username like you're describing, jpdoane. And when we set up Music we felt like the user should get some extra credit, even in the feed. So we put their username in the title so it was extremely obvious who did what. I agree it's not right for every part of the site, especially since many newsreaders are good about displaying the author. But we could revisit that if it's very annoying.

Its a feature, not a bug!
Just kidding. Its not a problem for me, just wanted to let you know about it if it was unintentional. Thanks for all the work you do!
