Separating song posts from Music Talk posts

Pony request: in Music, there is the song section and there is Music Talk. Would it be possible for this to be reflected in one's profile? For instance, if you go to Music Activity page for snsranch, it lumps together his songs and his Music Talk posts. It's just a little cluttered to look through because there is no distinction made. Maybe instead of a 'Posts' tab could there be one 'Songs' tab and one 'Music Talk' tab (or something like that)?

Yes, it absolutely worries me that I am worrying about this at 2 in the morning

And I know this exact suggestion has been made before, too, but I can't find it right now. But it'd be really great if this distinction between song posts and Music Talk posts could be made!

We all agree there's a problem and we've been discussing potential solutions but if we could pinpoint what's wrong it might help us with a solution.

It's just a little cluttered to look through because there is no distinction made.

Is the problem that it's difficult to tell which posts are Talk and which are Music? Or is the problem that one is crowding the other out?

Hey pb, I hope it's not too much to ask considering it's just a subsite, but the idea is to have Music Talk posts and Music Song posts listed separately on our profiles. For example, if I link to my music posts to share something with my cousin he'll be all confused by my Talk posts about challenges and stuff.

Yeah, definitely not a big deal or anything, but it would make sense to separate them. On my profile page, it says "Music: 50 posts", whereas it could say "37 songs, 13 discussion posts" or something along those lines.

Likewise in the activity page, the separation of songs and discussion posts would be helpful when obsessing over your favorite MuFician's oeuvre.

This is all set. Profile pages have a new line: Music Talk: x posts, x comments. And "Music Talk" is a new option in the menu on activity pages. Let me know if you spot bugs.

Well, I totally missed this discussion. Thanks Corduroy for making this post. Thank you, pb! It's a very helpful pony.

This isn't a bug report but more like a tiny pony add-on...the "Music Talk" option in the dropdown menu on activity pages is currently at the very end of the list. The last five are:
- Music
- Jobs
- Tenth Anniversary
- MeFi IRL
- Music Talk

Maybe Music Talk had a bad row with Music and is staying far away from it on purpose, but would it be possible to have the "Music Talk" option appear just after "Music" since they're so closely related? i.e.
- Music
- Music Talk
- Jobs
etc.
