While I quaver at the thought of beginning a thread doomed to be empty, perhaps some people will surprise me. Anyone interested in a Montreal-Ottawa-ish MeFiMeet? Toronto's a bit too far for me, but...

I'm in T-dot but might be up for it anyway, depending on timing. It's not too hard to convince me to visit Montreal. Come for the MeFi gathering! Stay for the poutine!

Also, a Toronto gathering (what is this, Highlander? that feels so strange to type) would be a great thing. If there's enough of us.

If we wait until late may, early June I'd be up for the Montreal thing.
A Toronto gathering would be nice as well, D, you're right. Any suggestions where it would be?

I'm in Montreal, would be up for it, but can't move very far: no money, no wheels. Any date suits me. Y aura-t-il quelques mots échangés en français? I would suggest MondoFritz, where you can get good beer and good poutine all at the same place. It's also right beside Schwartz, for those smoked-meat deprived Torontonians.

In Toronto I'd recommend maybe the Cameron House for drinks (no food). In Montreal, Mondo Fritz would be great. If we could go to Biftek afterwards. Ah, the memories..

Just to recap what we have here... (not sure if we have enough for a meet or not; thoughts?) There are problems with both Ottawa and Montreal locations, as different people have access to transportation to/from different places. So if people have cars, and are volunteer-ish, they may be useful. (Et qbert, surement il y'aura au moins quelques personnes qui savent parler en francais, et de ce que je comprends, tu peux aussi te faire comprendre tres bien en anglais.)

I wouldn't mind hopping on a car with a total stranger to get to a Ottawa meeting, I've done worse things before. The biggest problem would be to convince my significant other I am not finding new ways to lose my time on "le site bleu".

Et puis j'ai éprouvé une grande joie en lisant vos quelques phrases mes amis. Je rêve secrètement que le français prenne le contrôle de Mefi.
