MIA: Post about selling mattresses from a truck? June 4, 2011 7:59 AM   Subscribe

Does anyone remember a post about a company selling mattresses out of a swank custom truck designed like a bedroom?

I promised someone at a conference I would find this story for them and my search skills fail me for some reason. As I recall, you called the company or went to their website, told them a bit about your sleeping arrangements and preferences, and they rocked up with something like 10 mattress selections in your price range and a bed on which you could try them.

This was in the US, possibly Boston or Chicago?

Any help? Thank you so much.

The Mobile Mattress Store does this, except the truck is not designed like a bedroom.

Thank you so much! "Mobile mattress" which I had not thought of led me to "mobile mattress showroom" which eventually popped up Sleep Squad. Which sadly is now closed and also can't be found on MeFi. I was sure I'd read it here because I don't actually read anything else but apparently I was wrong :(

I'm so unfamiliar with all MetaFilter's culture, but to me, this would go in ask.me, yes? Oh right, it was originally seen on MeFi. Carry on!

Yes, exactly. I thought I was finally making one of those "Can you help me find that post I saw on the blue?" posts but instead I was just making an arse of myself. Apologies!

Heh. If you thought it was on Metafilter but you were incorrect about that, you posted it in the right place based on a fault of memory, so you're in the clear.

If you had been quite sure it was not something you'd seen on Metafilter, and just wanted Metafilter's help finding it out there on the internet, it would have been for askme.

Wheee! It's a little confusing around the edges, so it's not really an arsery sort of thing even when it does go completely wrong.
