Walmart supplier comment

Apropos of this thread, I'm trying to find a MetaFillter comment from a few years ago in which the commenter related a story about a friend or family member whose company made a product that Walmart became interested in selling.

I think it was a spray cleaning product, though it was not named by brand name, and the story was about how difficult the company was to deal with. Anyone remember that?

I remember something like this but I thought it was about lawnmowers. I can't find the comment either, but maybe try "lawnmower" in the queries you've already tried.

That's another interesting story but not the one I was thinking of. I felt fairly sure that it was (a) a cleaning solution of some kind, because I remember wondering if it was Fantastik, and (b) that it was in a comment by a MeFite, rather than the main link.

There was also the one about the guy whose small farm sold produce to Wal-Mart and how he got straight up screwed in the process. No link, but I recall that story often.

You know what's fucked up? I own a business that manufactures and wholesales cleaning products and aerosols for the automotive industry in the US, and I swear to god I wrote a comment about my family's experience in dealing with Walmart, but now I can't find it. I'm wondering if I asked for it to be removed because I was worried about the big bad giant or some shit.

If you are using google to try and find the comment be aware that their index of Metafilter is not complete. When I went looking for the comment featured in this askme I needed to step back through my history looking for it manually.

I had a comment once (that I can't find) about my dad's old company that sold colored play-sand to Wal-Mart, but I doubt that's what you're thinking of.

There was a link to a very strange and spooky Manga - people disappear into these tight tunnels in the side of the mountain... they creep along, into the depths. I won't spoil it, but if you know what I am talking about you know the one, anyone got a link?

I for sure remember a comment about some farmer selling (I think) tomatoes or lettuce, and how they fucked up pick up and he was on the hook for all the spoilage.
