I'm always seeing birthdays for people I don't know on my Google results, and it's like whatever, but today it was John, and I did a little double-take.

Thanks everyone. I have to remark, I was just on the Google homepage. Apparently they have code now that detects if its your birthday and changes the doodle to birthday cake with the tooltip "Happy Birthday (your first name)!", but before I realized that I thought "Okay, now this is going a bit too far."

The most foreboding sign of all, however, has to be the large percentage of local restaurants who tune their dining room TVs in to Fox News. (And one Burger King I know of shows Glenn Beck's channel "The Blaze". It's creepy enough that I wonder if Rod Serling is somewhere on the premises narrating.)

Literally the only places I've ever seen Fox News on a public television in NYC is every single diner in my neighborhood.
