This post on Andrew Sullivan's The Dish sure looks like a typical post on the blue, in a way that haven't seen before, and I'm a regular reader/subscriber.
Not that it's a bad thing, but it gives me pause.

Are you accusing him of lifting material from posts here or just sharing a stylistic similarity?

He's definitely aware of Metafilter. He has quoted stuff from Metafilter before (with appropriate credit given to the quoted Mefite!).

Wait, so he has a post with links and embedded quotes in it . . . how is that not generic blogging style? I know it's fashionable to hate on Sullivan around here, but he's been writing posts like that for years, and many items on the blue have been sourced on his blog, which tends to come up with some of the best content as it's going viral, and well ahead of Metafilter on certain kinds of content.

modernnomad, get a grip. I am not accusing him of anything. I just thought the similarity of style of the linked article to a post on the blue was noteworthy, especially knowing, as meese says, that he's aware of Metafilter.
spitbull, I don't hate Andrew. Far from it, I'm a subscriber. It seemed to me that the linked post was less like him and more like MeFi, but perhaps I'm mistaken in that. It just seemed interesting to me.
If the mods agree that this post is "odd," close it up. No problems here.
