Bug: Pasting links into comments

I'm no longer able to paste URLs into the link-helper alert window on Chrome. It just replaces the link text with the URL. Still works on Firefox. Example GIF.

Same issue on Modern and Classic. Problem has persisted for at least several days now.

Chrome 67.0.3396.99 on Mac.

Huh! I'm not sure what's up there; haven't had any other reports in the last few days but maybe other folks have run into it and can help track down the specifics better.

Works for me, Chrome 68.0.3440.84 on Win64. cichlid ceilidh does it still misbehave in incognito mode? If not then it's probably an extension (going incognito disables all extensions, so it's a good quick way to test whether an extension is the cause of an issue).

It persists in incognito with extensions disabled.

I had this same problem last week on my Mac - same version of Chrome too. I had to open up Firefox to complete a comment. However, in testing with this comment, it seems to be working fine, so I don't know.

I updated to 68.0.3440.84 and continue to see the issue. Haven't seen anything yet when searching for Chrome window prompt troubles.

I've been unable to link at all for quite a while. Latest Firefox. I put the URL in the box and click. Nothing happens at all.

I figured it out. Chrome window prompt doesn't play well with the Paste and Match Style keyboard shortcut.

LOL, I've been cycling through Paul Dinning's videos for a few months now while I go to work. Sunshine freakin' loves 'em, especially the squirrels. It's like TV for cats.
