I prefer to think of it as a greatest hits collection.

Michael Jackson's nose--eeyew. Not what I expected for Michael Jackson's Scream.

Generally, limiting a post to one topic is best. If you can't restrain yourself, try a cap of 25 or so.

It's too bad about the link-incontinence. The first one could have made for an interesting thread if left to its own devices.

is there such a thing as a double-post to the Nth power?

Looks like Matt logged on...

Hopefully the 14K+ kids won't now post to MeTa "Where did those links go? Why were they deleted?"

Hey! Where did those links go? Why were they deleted?

Yeah, what's going on? I'm so new that I only have a brain-stem in my head.

me3dia: Should I apologize now simply for being above 14000, or wait until later?

Ignore him. All us 10k'ers are bitter about just missing out on a <5-digit user number

Wait till later. I was making a joke -- you know, about newbies asking dumb questions and stuff. Being facetious. After all, I'm not exactly an old salt around here either.

Sorry to get your hackles up.

Okay. We'll let it go this time. But we'll be watching.

Ah, but who will watch the watchers?

I feel like I've had 14,000 eyes on me ever since I first crashed the MetaFilter party.

Ignore him. All us 10k'ers are bitter ...

And to think those of us with user numbers over 1,000 used to be the bitter ones.

I think we're all a bit bitter these days.
This, too, shall pass.

I, for one, welcome our new 15k overlords.
posted by saintsguy at 2:10 PM on August 23, 2002

Congratulation, saintsguy, on being the very last person to ever use that "welcome our new overlords" phrase here on MetaFilter. I hope.

(The prohibition on emoticons prevents me from indicating that this is meant in the spirit of good-natured ribbing.)

Assuming most of us still have two eyes, you actually have about 28000 eyes on you. mwah-ha-ha.

But don't most of you have at least two IDs?

Another one !
As I do not like banning any news source (NYT, Yahoo, etc.), I am against posts with just a simple "troll bait" link.
