Who wants a one week moratorium on news items?
Of the 24 topics posted on 12/15, 8 (or 10 depending your definition of "news") were from news organizations. The last topic posted on mTalk was that there are too many threads getting posted. If the community was forced to get creative with their links for a week, I think we might find a marked increase in the quality and uniquenss of the threads.

the newsy aspect of MeFi is one of the best things about it. i don't want just a collection of memepool-ish links.
