Okay, I know I'm repeating myself, but here goes: we've got interest from norm, COBRA!, trharlan, ScottUltra, mrbula, Zosia Blue, Hammerikaner, Utilitaritron, specialk420, & me.

Of a short list of August dates offered, mrbula can ONLY do the 16th; Zosia B. has indicated it's a good date; I can make it. But we might lose COBRA!, which isn't optimal.

Should we try some September dates instead? Please give a shout as to which of these would work for you (and please specify all that would work, rather than just the best option):

Thursday, September 4
Friday, September 5
Saturday, September 6
Sunday afternoon, September 7
Monday, September 8

If none of 'em work for you, please offer an alternative range of dates!

Let's get this worked out--my offer to buy the first pitcher still stands.

The way my schedule works, I really will have no idea that far in advance. If I had to take a guess, I would go with the Sept.6 Saturday date, but Aug. 16 is still the optimal one for me (though we would be cobra-less which would be sad - a gathering without a reptile is never quite gathering).

Sept. 4 and 8 both work pretty well for me. There's a chance that I'll be doing an extended-weekend-out-of-town then, but if we settle a date pretty soon i could work around it.

Me 'n' COBRA! seem to have similar schedules. I prefer September 4 or 8 too.

Prefer weekends, but can neither confirm nor deny any dates as my girlfriend plans my social calendar. September looks cool, FWIW.

The weekday September dates are open for me. (I have tentative plans for the weekend, but I don't know how those will work out yet.)

Okay. How about September 4th? That seems to be an agreeable date, and it's close enough to the weekend for me to be satisfied.

Coming into this late, but I'd be interested in attending. 8/16 I'll be out of town; most of the Sept. dates look good to me, though Sat. nights tend to work less well. Either the 4th or 8th would be great.

Wow, sounds like we're close to quorum for September 4. Zosia Blue, mrbula, Kat Allison, COBRA!, norm, me, maybe ScottUltra and trharlan (if his gf OKs it), and perhaps even esch and angry modem.

I'd still love to hear from specialk420, Utilitaritron, and Hammerikaner, but in the meantime sounds like we need to start figuring out a place!

Nominations so far have included Joe's Garage (near Loring Park), the Red Dragon (Lyndale), & solera (Hennepin & 9th street). All are Minneapolis so far--if that's a dealbreaker for St. Paulites, offer some venues near you!

One good St. Paul place is Chang O'Hara's, near cathedral hill. The atmosphere rules and they generally have pretty kick-ass music playing.

Joe's is a hoot. Best kitchen in town. Ike's could also be a possibility on off hours as it has become one of my fave watering holes, also serving some gourmet shit.

And there's always Lyle's in uptown. That's for if we decide to get really wasted!

Joe's and Nye's both sound like good options, esp. if we could get onto the roof at Joe's (I think someone mentioned Britt's* at some point, and the same thing goes there).

I haven't been to Ike's, but I've heard both wildly positive and wildly negative things about it.

And Lyle's would be cool as long as it wasn't in crowded-to-the-point-pf-bursting mode, which would make a meetup sort of problematical.

*Why do we name all of our bars with a possessive proper noun?

The Rock Bottom brewery on Hennipen, and The Local on 10th and Nicollet are usually pretty quiet on a Thursday.

There's also the added bonus of a selection of premiums for us beer snobs.

Not to disturb a fragile consensus, but The Liffey in downtown St. Paul (across from the Xcel Energy Center) is a fantastic little Irish pub.

I'd be up for Joe's too; it looks like Sept. 4 is good.
