I love Ericost.

...and Kottke.

I'm a bit confused by this. Just when I thought I was getting a hang of the posting etiquette... Isn't this the third kottke.org thread since friday?

I guess I'm not getting the joke... someone help a poor newbie out.

"the hang of," rather. Je m'excuse.

I unfortunately put my comments in the thread, but I agree... Kottke is usually (often?) a good read, but for chrissakes, I think we all know about him by now... Furthermore, I don't want to see 10000 threads each about someone's favorite blog.

D: injoke. kottke is the weblog everyone loves to hate, or everyone hates to love, or everyone hates to see others loving or hating.

just ignore it. - rcb

When is a troll not a troll?

Pretty much anytime there's an absurd comment made by or about kottke, the who shebang ends in a knee-slapping joke, which is cool, y'know, whatever....even though I stopped reading his blog a year ago, I keep being drawn back.....you zany kidder ericost! Obviously, you are a devotee of the Kottke style of "hey it's a slow day" jocularity.

Seems like trolling to me. I'm thinking about cracking MetaFilter to delete the thread.

rebeccablood: appreciate the response. I got that part, but I guess I just didn't realize it was a joke. *awkward grin* Damn "humor"... always confuses me.

owillis: you seem to do okay getting links to your sites from metafilter. though it's true that approximately 96% of them are from you. ah well, who's counting?

*retracts claws*

what amazes me about the Kottke-linking is not that it goes on, but rather that those threads always end up getting a pantload of comments---edging up on 100 for this latest as we speak.

it's the Undead Zombie A-List Inside Joke Meme. You can spike it through the heart, pump it full of silver bullets, or cram garlic down its gullet, but you just can't make it die.

"All these self-links are whores, except Kottke...do not try to hyperlink there. Use links together, use links in peace."

*koff* Have you taken a look at the nature of those comments lately?

I self link, I sure do. But never in a topic post. It's usually a reply with larger context or to a picture of my dog (I must spread his gospel), which I think is covered under the rules...

One question... next Tuesday will start "Ice Cream Day", right?

Kottke, Kottke bo-bottke, bannana-fanna-fo fottke...

Damn you Uncle Joe!

Though it's a tiresome subject (and by that I mean the subject itself, not the person), I have to admit that last thread was damned funny.

It's Tuesday, and I'm going to have some ice cream now.

A pint a week. That's all we ask.

Tim McV had two. Pints, that is. Just to bring the "tired thread" thing full circle.

He didn't wait until Ice Cream Day... and see what happened to him?
