Firda made a Weblog Hipness Quiz July 3, 2001 9:32 AM Subscribe
It's inevitable: Firda made a Weblog Hipness Quiz, with aggregated results here.
Yeah, I got a 30. But I lied about one of the answers.

I broke it. Just kidding, 14. But I am assured that: You're pretty hip but you don't care much about popularity. That makes you better than any A-Lister. Yeah! I'm going to bring back the cut-ups. I get negative hits when I post those.

20... I always score in the middle with these quizzes (especially in my sister's teen magazines.)... bah, to hell with blogs!

22, perhaps because I'm still using tables and not using Blogger or GreyMatter. I'll have to try harder I guess.

yeah... usually, click and the back button have a reunion whenever i come across that overflow problem (especially when people use that bratta dhtml layer scroll), unless i'm really after something. it's a good site aside from that, though...

I know the page looks like hell in Opera, but what can I say. I have no Opera installed (no space left in my pathetic excuse for a hard drive) and no one cares enough to show me how to fix it :( Anyone know of any workaround to the problem? I know this is not exactly the forum for that, but who knows...

Thanks, lotsofno :)
And thanks, everyone, for taking the silly quiz! It was just something I came up with out of boredom. No evil intention behind it, really :) Notice that I forgot to include ManilaSites/Weblogs/Editthispage as one of the updating system options. I only scored 22, btw.
Boy, do I talk a lot or what?

Here's the dirty little secret:
Blogger: 1 point
Greymatter: 3 points
Your own CMS or manually updated: 5 points
Why? Blogger is so easy to use so you don't get bonus point for using it. Greymatter template is mighty confusing so anyone who managed to install it should get higher point than Blogger users. I've always admired webloggers who update their blogs either using their own CMS or doing it manually because I don't think I could ever do that (I'm too lazy), so they get the highest point.
So there. :)

24... the very highest one can rank and still be "better than any a-lister" instead of "a-list material or a-list already".
making me cooler than all of you. so there! except mathowie, prol, and heather, of course, though if you ask me, "do you run a collaborative site with a bazillion contributors" should have been a bonus question too.

Firda, for the most part, if your page validates, it looks mostly the same in Opera or any other 5.x browser.
I just checked out your page and it looks much better in Opera. There's still an interesting overlap. It actually looks pretty cool, assuming I'm not missing any text.

If I hadn't cobbled together my own embryonic CMS, but were instead using Blogger, I wouldn't be hip at all. But I think you should get bonus points for not having a favorite Web designer.
