There seemed to be some disagreement among the applicants with how much one should write in the essay. I preferred elaboration despite the fact that the applicants were pointing out their prior contributions to MeFi. I think one should have to sweat it, even if only a little, when money is at stake.

I would've liked to have seen all the nominees parade around in evening gowns and swimwear before making my final decision. (You too, Graham and SpecialK.)

I don't know, I think I would've done better if I had written mine in haiku form & included lots of references to ice cream day & ponies.. and maybe included a Zippity BOP™ at the end. Anyway, congrats to the winners, hope the money helps cover those bar tabs :)
