30 minutes without the webs! July 18, 2001 10:21 AM   Subscribe

Plastic.com has been down for at least the last 30 minutes... Their web servers respond, but with a blank HTML document. (I didn't think this warranted a front-page post, but it might if this goes on for much longer.)

I've tested it in Opera and IE, via proxy (using Safeweb), and on two different web servers using Lynx. So I'm pretty sure it's not just me.

Yup, I get the same thing, so it's not just you.

Two of my friends in the Bay Area both say it's displaying fine. Which is strange, because if it was a connection problem (ie router difficulties), I wouldn't be able to connect to the web server at all.

Definitely not you. Blanky-blanky here too.

More blank than an autobiography written by an retrograde amnesiac.

Impressively, the DNS here still points to NetBoy, as it did when Plastic first went live. Thus, it works for me - but not really.

Okay, seriously, is it worth a Metafilter thread to discuss whether another site is down? If your access is bad, go away and try again in an hour. More often than not, that "fixes" the web site.

FWIW, this isn't a MeFi thread. And I don't think it's worth a MeFi thread, no.
