Plan the next Minne Meetup July 6, 2004 7:41 AM Subscribe
Lots of email chatter lately about the next Minneapolis meetup! Lawn bowling at Brit's or mini-golf at the Walker--what's the plan?
I'm for Brit's ... gatherings always seem to work better with substantial amounts of food and beer.

I'd vote Brit's too. Nothing like a pint before, during, and after the sport du jour.

I'm in! (Thanks for posting, clever sheep. I spaced out on this.) Brit's sounds good. I'm personally out for the next two weekends, so would anyone object to shooting for the end of the month? (Or, if we're very ambitious, this weekend.)

Woo!
Here's another vote for Brit's. And as usual, I can make pretty much any time if I have about a week's notice.
I've heard rumors of exceptionally long waits to get a green for bowling. Is there any truth to this?

Suzi's a pain in the ass to get into anytime other than tuesday 7am.

Brit's sounds good.
Also, July is good, but August is bad.

Again I'm in for Birts but place conditions: inside or patio, not sidewalk seating. Had bad luck a few weeks ago with some of our cities more... interesting denizens what with peeing on vacated chairs and what not.

You must love City Center when the buses line up for the midnight transfers. There are little rivers of pee all over the place.

This may sound odd, but would anyone object to a Sunday outing? Last time I was at Brit's to lawn bowl, it was my twin sister's wedding reception--a blissfully sunny Sunday afternoon. The greens were deserted and the refreshments were promptly served....

I'm incrementally more likely to be able to make a Sunday outing... but crap always seems to come up for me anyway, so I feel bad even posting in the thread.

Sunday sounds good, Brit's sounds good, pints sound even better.
Psycho Suzi's is nice, but definitely way too crowded for any sort of meetup. Besides, Brit's has better beer. And, you know, the lawn bowling.

Well, the 18th and 25th are out for me, personally. But those would probably be the best bets, so I might have to sit this one out. (Unless I decide to skip out on a wedding, which is hiiiighly possible.) There's August 1, too, but that might be too far away. Consensus?

I'm cool with 8/1 just as long as it's after the Twins game. That'll be done by four.

Okay, I just had to reschedule my end-of-month vacation, so I'm in for 8/1.

I am trying to move to Minneapolis, so I hope I will be able to one day join up with all of you.
Curse you, job market!

No, my vacation was rescheduled due to other causes. I'm trying to look at this as the silver lining.
I love you guys, but not enough to reschedule a vacation.
