metafilter gets a big shout out in the author's acknowledgements! - i was going to save this for sept 1, when dong's book will be officially released, but in light of wendell's missing tink post i figure now is as good a time as any.

Tink's back? I was sure Paris sold him (her?) as sausage meat in a rage over Tink having told (sold?) its story to Dong.

You have to watch these celebs, you know, re: the whole Reality/Fantasy thing. After all, isn't this the woman who tried to buy an airline ticket for a pet goat she'd just bought?

Please please please -

a thread in the Blue AND in the Grey for a fuckin' bimbo trustafarian's dog's ghostwritten autodography, just because the writer is a member here? This coulda been linked there, right - no protocol woulda been breached.

Isn't this a tad OTT?

That shivering little single-celled organism wouldn't have made enough sausage for a rat's breakfast. (Although I like the word trustafarian. That's worth two threads right there.)

All I really want is to be in Dong's entourage.

All I really want is to be on Dong's blogroll.

C'mon, MetaFilter has been immortalized in a dead tree book that wasn't co-written by mathowie himself. Isn't that kind of special? (Although, I can't help notice who was second in the Acknowledgements vs. eighth for ALL of MeFi. And I thought I was a publicity whore.)

*ignores the tantrum-y dash_slot, pinches wendell* bwah! you are so not one to talk. i was going to get someone else to do it for me, but everyone said it would be ok to do it myself. besides, online publicity under a fake name...? of no use to me whatsoever.

Mr. Resin may be a fine ghost-writer, but that crack about Boston is way, way off-base.

The damn band had, like, one hit in the 80s, vs. far too many in the 70s. They were unquestionably "a 70s rock group."

Well, we could now start arguing about the "rock" part, but... I'm done.

I guess we should all mark our calendars for Sept. 1 to add our glowing "reviews" to the Amazon page for the book. It's the least we can do for the DR.

And yes, 70s for Boston. But a little dog might not have known that, so cut some slack.

Look, I'm sorry about the tone, t r a c y 'n' all. It sounded petulant, didn't it .

Bad dashie! Bad boy! [/channels Miguel]

Dong is unquestionably one of the funniest writers in the blogosphere - credit to ya, man. Just felt that it was apt over there, as I said.

No harm, no foul. I really hope the books a roaring, raging realworld runaway bestseller.

I have more than a feeling that Boston were the last gasp of 70's pomp rock...

Begins stalking Michael Jackson's llama...

Well, dash, don't stop believing, but Journey may be in there with them, too.

'trustafarian' is a very cool word. Can I use it?

Also, all hail the dong!

Also, also, can I get a thread when my† book comes out, too? I need some goddamn revenooo, people!

[† 'my' in the same sense that when I'm riding on a bus with 22 other people, it's 'my' bus.]

Much as I like the word I don't think Paris H is a trustafarian. Trusties are usually rich trust fund kids who pretend to be hippy, cool, boho, poor, etc...think Lenny Kravitz.

All I really want is to be in Dong's entourage.

"Entourage" just doesn't have that je ne sais quoi neccessary for a halo of people surrounding Mr. Resin. *Every* gossip mag tidbit features someone's "entourage" - Boooooring. Might I suggest...

LONDON - Mr. Dong Resin and his Testicle Cheese entered the VIP section of China White on Saturday night and proceeded to use bottles of Cristal as a bling-bling proctological tool, setting a new trend amongst London clubbers...

FLORIA - Dong Resin's Testicle Cheese is being sued for assult and battery by a 79 year old Florida woman...

aww that's ok dash ! it's not like threads like this don't irritate the dongmeister himself, but i thought everyone here would like to see their group shout out. it's just a bit of fun.

*squishes self inbetween dash and amber*

romakimmy - haha, eww. may i suggest a vitamin b complex and a power nap...?

Really? Typos included? *cries*

Googling the appropriate phrase, it says something that Chuck Palahniuk's forums are the second result. Exactly what, I'm not sure, but it says _something_.
