UK meetup for Amberglow, Sept. 2004. September 8, 2004 4:35 AM   Subscribe

Amberglow's Coming To Town!

Just a reminder for any limeys - or other UK residents - who wanna meet & greet Mefi's meeting-upliest person: firmer details on the Wiki link above, ideas and other points can be posted here.

Manchester, London & Oxford are already laying out the red carpet (well, this pink rug will do, won't it?) - you're welcome to join us, if you'd like.

Just added the Warwickshire tour starting & ending in Cov. Fancy a curry on the 9th biffa? (Or any other Cov-based MeFites for that matter...)

Just saw that on the wiki. Will be delighted to come along. Had resigned myself to thinking that I would be out of the country for period of amberglow's visit. Do you have any ideas of where you plan to eat? There's a good curry house actually on station square if that's any help with travel plans.

Well there is this T-shirt printing place up the Cowley Road...

I'll be joining you in the evening in Oxford. I've lived here for over 10 years and never done ony of the touristy things, so you can tell me what they're like. Any ideas where to meet up?

I'm not sure if I'm clear there, will only be coming along for the curry in the evening, not the tour of warwickshire.

t r a c e y: will do!

salmacis: it's as yet undecided. Central seems to be preferred... howsabout we say Eagle & Child, St. Giles, 6pm, as a reasonably firm starting point?

biffa & i_cola: we'll see ya next time, hopefully, for a bigger gathering..

Er, I'm moving to Oxford on Monday!

I'll come to the pub for 6, no doubt I'll be in need of a drink. How will I recognise people?

How will I recognise people?
This may be a good place to start.

First leg completed. Whistlestop tour, a meetup with biffa for a curry, late-night flower purchases & the last time amberglow was seen alive was at Gerrard's Cross train station. He even got to meet my Mum on her birthday ;-)

Onto the next one...

Second leg is now done. Good turnout (6) considering NW England is meant to be a bit of a backwater.

Seanyboy has pics. I'm bringing matchsticks to the next meet so that my freakin' eyes stay open during the shoot.
