SF Meetup: Nov 10 November 9, 2004 8:39 AM Subscribe
MeFiSF Reminder: Tomorrow, November 10, 7 PM, at the Phoenix (Valencia and 19th).
I might show. Do you wear red carnations or something? Or is there a giant humiliating MetaFilter sign? Do we have to write things on napkins? I don't want to do that. I was traumatized by a napkin at a very impressionable age.

I thought it was going to be November 11 to celebrate Armistace Day.
Unfortunately, I don't believe I'll be able to make it tomorrow, as there's a high school open house that evening that I have to go with my daughter to. Rats! If it ends early, maybe I'll try stopping by.
Thanks for organizing it Caitlin!

Well, it was, jasper411, but our special guest had her travel plans changed on her.
And Kafkaesque: just walk straight back (beyond the bar itself) to the tables. I'm not a big fan of signs, but there will probably be visible evidence of technology at the table and perhaps a small MeFi logo, eg, taped to the back of a portable computing device of some kind. Or on DaShiv's person, if he can make it with the date change.

@#^!@#$
Something has come up--or rather, an orientation meeting for something I had previously committed myself to has somehow managed to sneak up on me. Unfortunately, I won't be able to double as the human billboard at our meetup this time around.
If I actually had cause to keep an appointment calendar, the two overlapping X's for this Wednesday night would be the only marks in a vast, desolate tundra of calendar grid lines, stretching empty for miles in all directions. What do you know, lightning does strike the same spot twice.
I'll actually be in the city (on 16th St. at that), but you guys will probably be done by the time I get out. Take pictures!

This may be the first opportunity I've had to see kafkaesque since he snuck up from southern california. If he goes - I'm in.

I could send a surly, besotted acquaintance in my stead. But I won't.

no, as in, grumpy drunk friend.
if he ever had been besotted with anyone, he mighta been less drunk, or less grumpy. I think he's hilarious, but I've known him since I was 13. Everyone else gets offended. So, um, no.
