The funny thing is, I do have plans to be
in the city this weekend - in total conflict with both meetups!

I'll be at (fetus)twin fet(us)twin Saturday at 8:00pm, and have plans to see House of Flying Daggers at the 42nd street Loews at 3:45pm on Sunday. It's like y'all knew my schedule.

I too am honored.

I seem to be the first one back from the Sunday meeting, at which a small but select group of hardcore NYC MeFites were assembled -- our theory was that Dempsey's was so hard to find that it may have discouraged some. For a while it looked like it was going to be just jonmc and me. Anyway, pix were taken, so you will be able to witness the deep discussion of obscure music that prevailed.
