Actually, q, those are not only not MeFites (or MoFites), they're not even random people. They are actors hired to make it look like the Bay Area meetups are well attended. And they sure run up a tab. Anyway, it takes a little while to get all the stories straight so that each of the ringers is identified correctly in the comments.

We're a little frantic about concluding negotiations for the ones coming tonight. They have us over a barrel, because we have to use some of them multiple times to make it look like we have continuity.

It seemed like a good idea when we thought it up, though.

Oh wow. If you make it, fandango, can you post illustrations of the event /participants after? You'd give DaShiv one hell of a run for his money.

Either way I think there's more than one of us who'd like to toast the man who redesigned MetaFilter.

Judging from the responses in the last few Bay Area meetup threads, I think the peanut gallery would prefer instead if certain unnamed individuals among you brought the "naked" part of the "naked Twister." But I digress.

Scarabic: I don't know whether to be chuffed or insanely jealous having seen the pic of you enjoying a pint of Sunspot Gold on my behalf. Glad you folks had a good night in Jupiter, but gutted I missed out. I'll raise a glass of whatever fine ale they're serving in the Anchor (Birmingham, UK) to you chaps later today.
